Forum privacy

The forum is public: anyone can read, copy or share questions and answers, including through the public API. Do not post passport, visa or student numbers, home addresses, or other sensitive personal details.

Your name is shown to nobody, not even to the team. An admin approves anonymous posts before they appear; until then only you and the admins can see this post. At publication the link to your account is deleted, so you can no longer edit or delete the post yourself and you will not be notified of answers. Do not include identifying details in your text.

When a moderator reports a post, we keep a copy of the reported text, the reason and the decision as a case record. The copy stays even if the public post is deleted, and it is deleted automatically 2 years after the case is closed or a suspension ends. Forum anonymity hides your name from readers, but not from the two owners.
