Three-Day Welcome Days Program for New Students from TSG Aachen

TSG Aachen is organizing a three-day Welcome Days program from October 1 to 3, 2026, for students beginning their university life in Aachen in the 2026/27 winter semester.
The program aims to help newly arrived students better understand some of the most important administrative procedures and university processes in Germany. Over the three days, students will receive information about topics such as health insurance, student registration, and military service deferment, while also having the opportunity to meet senior students and explore the campus.
Day 1: Information About Health Insurance
On the first day of Welcome Days, AOK health insurance specialists will meet with students.
The presentation will provide information about important points students should be aware of when taking out student health insurance in Germany or extending their existing insurance coverage.
Students will also have the opportunity to ask specialists questions about issues they may encounter during the health insurance process.
Day 2: Education Attaché, Course Registration and Campus Tour
The second day of the program will cover several different topics.
A presentation by the Education Attaché will provide students with information about:
Student registration
KYK scholarships
Military service deferment
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session, giving students the opportunity to ask questions directly about these topics.
On the same day, volunteer mentors from higher semesters will assist new students with course registration. This will allow students to receive direct support from more experienced students when selecting and registering for their courses.
The second day's program will also include a campus tour, giving new students the opportunity to discover important locations around the university before classes begin.
Day 3: Barbecue and Surprise Raffle
The final day of Welcome Days will conclude with a more social program.
Students will come together for a barbecue in the park next to the Türme student residence. The event will provide an opportunity for new students to meet one another as well as students who have already been living and studying in Aachen.
A surprise raffle will also take place on the final day of the three-day program.
For the barbecue event, priority will be given to Ersti students — students who are beginning their first semester at university.
Free Food and Drinks
According to TSG Aachen's announcement, food and drinks will be provided free of charge to students on every day of the Welcome Days program.
The program therefore offers students not only an opportunity to receive information about administrative and academic matters, but also a chance to meet other students and make their first connections in Aachen.
